ITINERARY
Day 1, Wednesday - Depart New York
Late afternoon deparure from New York on your South African Airways flight to Johannesburg.

Day 2, Thursday - Johannesburg
Early evening arrival in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel in the sophisticated suburb of Sandton.

Day 3, Friday - Johannesburg
Highlights of this half day tour to Gold Reef City include an interactive tour that brings the theme park’s exciting historical and gold mining attractions together in an entertaining and informative package. This will include an underground mine tour, visits to three mine houses and an opportunity to see a bar of gold being poured. Professional Meeting, including a visit to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the largest in the world, on the border of Soweto. Then, visit Soweto, a city of surprise and contrast, of starting enterprises and of vigorous cultural interaction. Tonight, Welcome Dinner. BD

Day 4, Saturday - Game Reserve
Morning flight to Hoedspruit; you’ll be met and transferred to a Private Game Reserve situated in pristine African bushveld. Experience game viewing by day and at night, guided by highly qualified game rangers and skilled trackers. See a myriad of wild animals including leopard, lion, rhino, elephant and antelope. BLD

Day 5, Sunday - Game Reserve
Early morning game drive; board your Land Rover and head again into the bushveld. After lunch and dinner, you have the option of joining the bush walk and night drive to catch a glimpse of those elusive animals. BLD

Day 6, Monday - Garden Route/Knysna
Flight to George and the world-famous Garden Route. Meet your guide and drive to Knysna, lying on the banks of a shimmering lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. Dinner at the Drydock Company Restaurant. BD

Day 7, Tuesday - Knysna
Today, visit Kynsna Elephant Park. Here you will have an opportunity to touch, feed and photograph these gentle giants. Elephants love eating, so don’t forget your bucket of feed! After an amazing experience with the Elephants, continue onto Storms River for the Woodcutters Journey to experience the indigenous forest form the comfort of a specially designed vehicle. Watch for a glimpse of the elusive Narina Trogan and the inquisitive Knysna Loeire who enjoys the tranquil shade of the leafy canopy. After a light lunch, return to your hotel. Tonight, a special treat – a Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Paddler Cruiser. BLD

Day 8, Wednesday - Knysna/Cape Town
Depart Knysna, driving via the beautiful Garden Route towns of Wilderness and George to Mossel Bay. This popular holiday town is surrounded by a sunbathed peninsula and the refreshing waters of the Indian Ocean. Continue inland to historic Swellendam for lunch. Then, drive through lush winelands and fruit orchards to magnificent Cape Town, with its rich diversity of soaring craggy mountains, multi-hued vineyards, endless white beaches, and indigenous forests. Day 9, Thursday - Cape Town
Breathtaking views await you today! Depart the hotel to the base of Table Mountain. Ascend by cable car, the panoramic view includes most of the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Then, proceed to Groote Schuur Hospital for a Professional Visit. Here, Professor Chris Barnard made history by performing the first human heart transplant operation. Continue to the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens at the base of Skeleton Gorge. Return to your hotel via some of Cape Town’s most exclusive suburbs. Evening: Traditional South African BBQ dinner at a private home. Relax around the open fire and enjoy the warm, friendly hospitality of local South Africans. BD

Day 10, Friday - Cape Town
Drive from Cape Town to the Afrikaans Taal Monument. Continue along the scenic Franschhoek Valley; visit the memorial to the French Huguenots and stop at one of the many fine wine estates in the region. Tour a wine cellar and enjoy tasting some of the world-renowned South African wines. On to historic Stellenbosch, center of learning, rugby and the wine industry. Enjoy lunch and local wines at the lovely Spier Estate. After a tour of this beautiful town, with its extraordinary Cape Dutch architecture, return to Cape Town. BL

Day 11, Saturday - Cape Town/En Route
Morning at leisure for last minute shopping, sunning and savoring this fabulous city. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the U.S. B Note: Passengers continuing to Victoria Falls on Sunday, will stay overnight in Cape Town on Saturday night.

Day 12, Sunday - En Route
Morning arrival in New York – OR - continue to Victoria Falls.

Full-day tour of legendary Victoria Falls, one of the most magnificent natural wonders of the world. The Falls is the largest, the most beautiful and certainly the most majestic waterfall in the world. Dinner at the hotel. BD
