We begin our Russian journey in Moscow, huge, governmental and powerful, whose impressive museums, galleries, onion shaped domes, palaces, towers and vibrant Red Square never fail to inspire. Next comes St. Peterburg, the “Venice of the North,” home of the Hermitage with its brilliant works of art and the Winter Palace. Last year, St. Petersburg celebrated its 300th anniversary! You’ll see the world’s largest collection of ancient and modern Russian art, Czarist treasures, Faberge jewel-encrusted eggs and attend a performance of the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre. Stay in deluxe hotels, enjoy delicious meals, attend excellent cultural performances and discover one of the world’s most fascinating lands at a true turning point in history.

ITINERARY
Day 1, Friday - En Route
Early evening departure for Moscow, Russia.

Day 2, Saturday - Moscow
Arrive in Moscow, capital of Russia, pervaded with the unique atmosphere of the old and the new, of ages-old solidity and recent uproar, of a deeply rooted cultural heritage facing the onslaught of the latest Western life styles. Orientation tour of the city includes the Towers of the Kremlin, Lenin’s Mausoleum and the onion shaped domes of St. Basils Cathedral. Check into your hotel, to relax and unwind. Tonight: Welcome to Russia Dinner. D

Day 3, Sunday - Moscow
After breakfast, visit the Tretyakov Gallery, housing the country’s largest collection of ancient and modern Russian Art. Afternoon is at leisure to explore at your own pace. Tonight, attend a performance at the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre. (substitutions may occur during certain periods). B

Day 4, Monday - Moscow
In today’s excursion to the 12th century Kremlin and its imposing Cathedral Square; you'll see palaces, cathedrals and the infamous “Ivan the Terrible” Bell Tower. Visit the Armory Museum filled with czarist treasures and anjoy a special entrance to the Treasury Room with its fabulous collection of magnificent jewels and Faberge jewel-encrusted eggs. Time for lunch, then a Professional Visit is scheduled at a major hospital. Tonight, our “Moscow by Night” drive provides incredible views of the city. B

Day 5, Tuesday - Moscow/ St. Petersburg
Morning flight to St. Petersburg, considered the most beautiful city in Russia. This city, originally conceived and planned by Peter the Great is connected by lacy, elegant bridges; its many palaces have pastel-colored facades which add to the charm of this lovely city. Today’s orientation includes a drive along Nevsky Prospekt to St. Isaacs Cathedral, with its magnificent gilded dome. Cross the Neva River to the Peter & Paul Fortress, now the final resting place for some of the Romanov Czars, and the oldest structure in St. Petersburg. A Professional Visit is scheduled for this afternoon. Then, check into your new Spa-Hotel which offers opportunities to enjoy the wide variety of spa treatments, massage, the gym’s equipment or the pool in the adjacent Holiday Club Spa & Wellness.B

Day 6, Wednesday - St. Petersburg
Morning drive to nearby Pushkin Palace, for a tour of Catherine’s Palace, including the extravagant bedrooms and stroll through the extensive gardens. After a typical Russian lunch with entertainment, return to St. Petersburg where a Professional Tour is scheduled for a tour of the hospital and meeting with staff members. Return to the hotel for a refreshing swim. Tonight, attend a ballet or opera performance in one of the world-famous theatres. BL

Day 7, Thursday - St. Petersburg
Morning visit to the world-famous Hermitage Museum, in the former Winter Palace, with its astounding collection of over three million exhibits. You’ll see all of the great European Masters including Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Rafaello, Van Gogh, Picasso and the French Impressionists. Afternoon at leisure to explore at your own pace – and perhaps visit some of the city’s shops exhibiting many of the souvenirs of Russia, such as enamel boxes, wooden dolls and amber jewelry. Balance of the day to enjoy the amenities of your spa hotel. B

Day 8, Friday - St. Petersburg/ Peterhof/ St. Petersburg
Travel by hydrofoil to Peterhof, Summer Palace of the Czars, designed by Peter the Great to rival the finest houses of Western Europe. Visit the public rooms of the main palace and the extraordinary formal gardens with their gilded statues, gushing fountains and world-famous waterfalls that cascade down to the Gulf of Finland. Return to St. Petersburg. Tonight, our Farewell Dinner caps an enchanting tour. BD

Day 9, Saturday - En Route
Morning transfer to the airport for your return flight to the U.S. B
