ITINERARY FRIDAY, DAY 1- EN ROUTE
Evening departure for Greece.
SATURDAY, DAY 2- ATHENS
Morning arrival in Athens, Greece’s capital city; transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure to stroll about Constitution Square, just outside your hotel. Perhaps browse the colorful Plaka area, admire the fashionable chic Kolonaiki Square or visit the National Architecture Museum. Tonight, a Welcome Dinner celebrates your arrival. D
SUNDAY, DAY 3- ATHENS
This morning, a tour of Athens includes Constitution Square, the House of Parliament, Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the National Library. Drive via the Presidential Palace on your way to the dramatic Acropolis; see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held; the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. On the Acropolis, visit the new renovated museum (scheduled to open soon) and architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens. Afternoon at leisure. B
MONDAY, DAY 4- ATHENS-PIRAEUS- MYKONOS
Morning transfer to the Port of Piraeus to board the Aquamarine. Sail at 11am. Spend the afternoon at sea, sailing the blue waters of the Aegean, enjoying the fine amenities on board. Early evening arrival at the chic, sophisticated jetset port of Mykonos.
After dinner on board, perhaps a stroll along the lovely harbor, browse the smart boutiques and enjoy a coffee in one of the portside cafes. Sail at 11pm. BLD
TUESDAY, DAY 5- MYKONOS-KUSADASI-PATMOS
Arrive early morning in picturesque Kusadasi, starting point for an optional tour to ancient Ephessus, one of the most important archeological sites in Turkey. Sail at 12Noon. Late afternoon arrival on the rocky island of Patmos. Take the optional shore excursion to the Monastery of the Apocalypse with its magnificent panoramic views. BLD
WEDNESDAY, DAY 6- RHODES
Since ancient times, Rhodes, the “island of the Roses” has been one of the favorite resorts of the Aegean. Today, it has lost none of its natural appeal and has been enriched by the passing of the ages. We’re in port from 8am to 7pm. Wander through the old city to see its fortifications, the Street of the Knights with medieval stone mansions, the Palace of the Grand Master and the Hospital of the Knights (now a museum). You might like to take an optional excursion to Lindos, climb up to the Temple of Athena to enjoy the sensational view over the Aegean Sea and spend some time on one of the island’s beautiful beaches. THURSDAY, DAY 7- HERAKLION - SANTORINI
Early morning arrival at Heraklion, capital of Crete, just 3 miles away from the ruins of the Palace of Knossos, legendary labyrinth of the Minotaur. This optional excursion takes your through the flourishing vineyards of this beautiful island to Knossos where the Minoan civilization originated. Sail at 11am for Santorini, considered one of nature’s true wonders. Dock at 430pm in the afternoon, and perhaps take the optional tour to Akrotiri, believed by some to be a part of the lost city of Atlantis and climb by foot, donkey or cable car up to the white-washed village of Fira. Time to sample the wines of this spectacularly beautiful island in an open-air café with breathtaking views of the caldera. The Aquamarine sails at 9pm BLD
FRIDAY, DAY 8 - PIRAEUS
Early morning disembarkation in Piraeus. This morning, a Professional Visit is scheduled. Balance of the afternoon at leisure to explore the city at your own pace. BLD
