THURSDAY, - DAY 2- CAIRO
Arrive in Cairo, Egypt's bustling capital. Visas for Egypt will be provided upon arrival. Transfer to your hotel overlooking the Nile. Remainder of the day is at leisure.
FRIDAY - DAY 3- CAIRO
This morning discover the treasures of the enormous Egyptian Museum, which contains the world's most complete collection of arts and artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamen and the fascinating Mummy Room. Drive to Giza and enjoy lunch at the Meridien Hotel. This afternoon see the Three Great Pyramids, the oldest surviving structures built by man. Visit the astonishing Solar Boat Museum, housing the oldest known ship in the world, and stand in awe at the magnificent Sphinx, carved out of a single piece of stone, guarding the Giza plateau. Try a camel ride before continuing to the unique Karnak Bazaar. Refreshments await you - and gems that will dazzle you. BL
SATURDAY - DAY 4- CAIRO-LUXOR
Early morning flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, transfer to your Nile Cruiser for a 5 Day/4 Night Cruise, Movenpick's M/S Royal Lilly. After lunch, visit the Avenue of the Sphinx and the imposing Temple of Luxor with its grand colonnades. Continue to the vast Karnak Temple-Complex, built by generations of Pharaohs. SUNDAY, DAY 5- LUXOR-EDFU
Morning visit to the Valley of the Kings containing the secretive tombs of New Kingdom Pharaohs. Visit the beautifully terraced funerary Temple of Queen Hapshetsut at Deir el Bahari. Then, on to the famed Colossi of Memnon, standing nearly 70 feet tall. After lunch on board, sail to Edfu. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Edfu on board the Royal Lilly. BLD
MONDAY, DAY 6- EDFU-KOM OMBO-ASWAN
Travel in Edfu by horse-drawn carriage to the Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all large Egyptian Temples. Afternoon arrival in Kom Ombo, a hill town ovrlooking the banks of the Nile. Visit the Greco-Roman Temple, dedicated to Horus, the Sun God and Sobek, the Crocodile God. Sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board BLD
TUESDAY, DAY 7- ASWAN
This morning a Professional Visit is scheduled. Then, visit the Aswan High Dam and the unfinished Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut. See the granite quarries where the stone was cut for ancient monuments and the modern dam. Continue by motorboat to the island of Philae; view the exquisite, gleaming white Temple of Isis. After lunch, sail on a typical Egyptian "felucca" (sailboat) gliding along the Nile past Lord Kitchener's Island and the dramatic Aga Khan Mausoleum. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan. BLD
WEDNESDAY, DAY 8- ASWAN-ABU SIMBEL-CAIRO
Morning flight from Aswan to the mighty Sun Temple of Abu Simbel, flanked by four giant stone statues of Ramses II. The temple was reclaimed from the dam and reconstructed in its present and unforgettable location. Transfer to the airport for Cairo and your hotel. B
THURSDAY, DAY 9- CAIRO
This morning, a Professional Visit is scheduled, followed by a visit to Old Cairo to see the beautiful Coptic Church of St. Sergius where Jesus and the holy family stayed after fleeing Jerusalem. Stroll through the winding streets to the restored, century-old Ben Ezra Synagogue. Proceed to the 19th century Mosque of Mohammed Ali at the 12th century Citadel of Saladin. End the day with a visit to the Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar - bargain for brassware, leather, silver, gold, antiques and more! Tonight, experience the extraordinary Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids. B

Transfer to the airport for flight back to the U.S. arriving later the same day. B
