ITINERARY
Day 1, Sunday - Depart New York
Evening departure from New York with short stopover en route to Nairobi.

Day 2, Monday - Nairobi
“Jambo”— welcome—to the Safari Capital of the world. You arrive at your hotel in the evening. It is set among sumptuous gardens with a casino and olympic-sized swimming pool.

Day 3, Tuesday - Nairobi
After breakfast, attend a Professional Meeting. Rest of the day is at leisure. Optional tours available to the home of Out of Africa author Karen von Blixen, or to Giraffe Manor, where you can hand-feed magnificent and rare Rothschild giraffes. Evening cocktail party and dinner followed by an African dance performance. BD

Day 4, Wednesday - Aberdare National Park
Today we head north—into the heart of East Africa. This is big-game country in all its splendor. The day begins early and the drive is spectacular. First stop: Aberdares on the Eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley where majestic Mt. Kenya dominates the landscape. After lunch at the Aberdare Country Club, onward to The Ark—a modern viewing wonder perched atop a natural spur a mile and a half up. All around you see lush mountain forests and watering holes where elephant, buffalo, rhino and giant forest hog come to sample the salt lick. BLD

Day 5, Thursday - Mt. Kenya
Deep in Kikuyu country, miles from civilization, is a magnificent resort built on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. The Mt. Kenya Safari Club is world-renowned for the sheer luxury of its accommodations and utter drama of its setting. It is a day for relaxation and roaming the resort’s magnificent grounds. A Professional Meeting is scheduled. BLD

Day 6 &7, Friday & Saturday - Masai Mara/Northern Serengeti
Travel southwest by air to the storied Masai Mara and Northern Serengeti. Below are the sweeping landscapes of Kenya and multitudes of game which cross the vast and varied terrain. On the ground you’re as close as you’ll ever be to migrating herds, prides of lion lazing in the shade, zebra, wildebeest and ivory-tusked elephants. Two days to take it all in. BLD/BLD

Day 8, Sunday - Masai Mara/ Nairobi/Amboseli
In the morning a last chance to photograph the wildlife of Masai Mara before returning to Nairobi by air. After lunch, drive south and become transfixed by the imposing sight of the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro – the backdrop of Amboseli National Park. BLD

Day 9, Monday - Amboseli
Famous for its awesome scenery, Amboseli is home to the “big five”—elephant, leopard, lion, rhino and buffalo—that roam freely amongst the proud Masai warriors tending their cattle. On these open plains, countless other species of animals appear mixing with abundant birdlife. While here, you’ll go out for early morning and late afternoon game drives. BLD

Day 10, Tuesday - Lake Manyara
In the morning, we cross the border into Tanzania and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The Park is the home of the tree-climbing lion and to flamingos, pelicans, leopards, rhinos as well as large herds of elephant and buffalo. Our lodging is the new Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, situated at the edge of an escarpment, that overlooks both the Great Rift Valley and Manyara’s beautiful soda lake. BLD

Day 11 & 12, Wednesday & Thursday - Ngorongoro Crater
After a game drive at Lake Manyara, head northwest across the rim of the Valley to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” one of the largest extinct volcanic craters in the world. The second morning, you descend into the Crater, which appears to be a vast blue lake. But as you draw close to the floor, you see, in actuality, that it is an unspoiled plain swarming with roving wildlife. Your lodging for the two days, high on the Crater’s rim, is the spectacularly designed Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.BLD/BLD

Day 13, Friday - Nairobi/ New York
Flight to Nairobi, via Arusha. A picnic box lunch will be given en route in Arusha. Day room is provided for your convenience in Nairobi. Tonight, a Farewell Dinner at Lord Erroll’s Restaurant, then transfer to the airport for your departure flight. BLD

Day 14, Saturday - En Route
Arrive in New York.
